The game of roulette
Enter a world of excitement, intrigue and pure luck with the game of roulette. This fascinating spinning wheel has been the beating heart of casinos for generations, and now you can enjoy all the action and adrenaline right from your home.
Roulette is a game of chance that has bewitched the minds and captured the hearts of players all over the world. The wheel itself is a mechanical work of art, divided into boxes numbered from 0 to 36 (in this version we even have a double zero!). All the numbers are either red or black in color, except for the zero and the double zero, which are green. Your goal is simple: bet on which number or combination of numbers will be the lucky winner when the wheel stops spinning.
Choose from a variety of bets, from direct bets on a single number to more complex bets on colors or columns. At the start of the game you will have 1,000 DINcoins to bet on the wheel. Once you place your bet you will have to choose how many DINcoins to wager on each play.
What do you want to focus on?
You can choose a particular number. If the ball lands on that number, you win 36 times your bet. If the ball lands on another number, you lose your bet.
Or you can choose to bet on one color (black or red), all numbers have one of those two colors except zero and double zero. If the ball stops on a number of the color you chose, you win 2 times your bet. If the ball stops on a number of another color, you lose your bet.
Or you can choose one of three columns, each of which contains 12 numbers. If the ball lands on a number in your chosen column, you win 3 times your bet. If the ball lands on a number in another column, you lose your bet.
Decide how much to bet on each play
Your initial nest egg amounts to 1,000 DINcoin (yes, it's a made-up currency). The computer will spin the wheel over and over again, automatically. Here you decide how many DINcoins to bet on each play. The more you bet, the more you win!
The results
The graph shows how, as you play, your amount of DINcoin evolves. The line goes up when you win and down when your luck turns.
Oops, looks like you're out of money!
Your DINcoin capital as you see, sooner or later unfortunately goes to zero. This is because the game of roulette, like all the games of chance you find in casinos, scratch cards, soccer bets etc. are all unfair games i.e. the banker has a higher probability of winning than the player.
What should the payout look like to make the casino game fair in the case of an American roulette wheel in which the numbers 1 to 36 plus zero and double zero (which are green) appear?
